Programme Info

Pharmacy is the health profession that links the health sciences with the chemical sciences and it is charged with ensuring the safe and effective use of pharmaceutical drugs. Diploma of Pharmacy is a 3-year programme that provides the students with the knowledge and skills needed to dispense drugs and medications to patients, as well as providing proper advice on how to use drugs and medications under the supervision of a Pharmacist. Besides dispensing drugs and medications to patients, the Assistant Pharmacist also deals in indenting, receiving and storage of medicine. He also has to prepare and blend medicine and at the same time prepare and supply pharmaceuticals to the wards and pharmacy.

Upon graduation, graduates can apply to join Ministry of Health Malaysia as a Pharmacist Assistant (Penolong Pegawai Farmasi) where they will be posted to any government hospitals and health clinics throughout Malaysia. Otherwise, they can also seek employment in the private sectors.
